Hi! I'm Elizabeth and I have been around animals since the day I was born. Animals always have and always will be my passion and joy. I have been fostering cats, kittens, puppies and dogs for over fifteen years. I worked as a foster coordinator and as an adoption counselor for the NOAH Center for several years. I also worked as the adoption and volunteer manager for Purrfect Pals. I most recently worked as a receptionist and vet assistant for a local clinic. I am highly skilled and experienced with all age groups, medical conditions, energy levels and personality types. I do specialize in special needs pets. I am willing, able, and trained in administering medications, including subcutaneous fluids and other injectable medications.
I have several cats and dogs of my own including special needs fur kids. In addition, I have pet goldfish as well as outdoor pot bellied pigs and chickens. I have had birds in the past, too! So I am experienced in caring for a broad range of pets and love them all! Even if I have never cared for a particular animal, I am very willing to learn and care for them just like I would any other animal; with love, care and respect.
Before accepting your request to book, I will not only ask questions about you and your pets expectations, but once we have established that I am a good fit for your needs, I will go ahead and set up a meet and greet, free of charge, so that we can get to know one another better and ensure you are comfortable with me caring for your fur, feathered, or finned baby!
I am experienced with pet first aid and will have a kit on hand. By mid 2024 I will be certified in pet first aid and CPCR.
I live with my family in beautiful Skagit Valley on 2+ acres in a 125 year old farmhouse that we are currently (and perpetually) improving. I was born in Brooklyn, spent my teen years in South Jersey, lived in Philadelphia for several years and moved to Washington a decade ago. I love to read romantasy novels, support local businesses (I have an additional Instagram account, @lizyofthevalley, where I feature my favorite makers and artists), go on nature strolls, spend time with family, friends, and my fur babies, bake, sip tea lattes or decaf coffee by a fire, camp, go on road trips, enjoy live music, learn new things, and am obesesed with flowers.
